Everwild popped up again in a July 2020 showcase. The broadcast delivered the much awaited news of all the games we can expect to load up with the Xbox Series X launches this winter. Everwild was first announced during a 2019 Xbox event by way of a very pretty trailer that said exactly nothing about the game, outside of the fact that it was published by Xbox Game Studios and developed by Rare, the storied studio behind Sea of Thieves and Perfect Dark. This was shown during the Xbox Games Showcase on July 23. So far we still don’t know much about what sort of game Everwild will actually be beyond having a big emphasis on interacting with nature, but goodness, the trailers they’ve released so far are certainly gorgeous and we can’t wait to see more of Everwild when Rare is ready to show it. Gathering around the body of a fallen deer-like creature, the people swing incense burners, conducting a ritual that sees a form of forest spirit heal or bring the deer back to life. The new trailer – titled, Eternals – shows a group of people in a forest, interacting and guiding a range of large and fantastical creatures. We also still don’t have a release window on Everwild as of yet, so stay tuned to Shacknews as we await further information and details about this mysterious new IP from Rare. Nonetheless, there are clearly a lot of fantastical elements in play between the magic and abilities of the human characters, the myriad of natural creatres (we were big fans of the big amphibious creature that vomits babies), and the more supernatural forces at work within Everwild. We don’t even know what genre the game is quite yet. What exactly we’ll be doing in Everwild still seems to be quite the enigma. The whole affair is big on a variety of supernatural forces. There’s also a magical element here as we observe a group of people do what appears to be some kind of summoning ritual. The all-new trailer takes players deep inside the new world in which travelers journey alongside strange and interesting creatures, some good and some more frightening. Rare revealed the latest trailer for Everwild during the Xbox Series X Games Showcase presentation on July 23, 2020. Either Everwild isn’t far along in development or Rare is trying to preserve the game’s. During the Xbox Series X Game Showcase presentation, we got another look at what Rare’s Everwild has in store for us. Much like the debut trailer for Everwild, this preview is short on substantial plot and gameplay details. This is an upcoming adventure game that will invite players into a deeply spiritual, mysterious, and colorful world. In another accessibility move Rare adds narration to their EverWild launch trailer. Rare has been doing great with Sea of Thieves throughout the last few months, but the studio is ready to give players something all-new and magical. 2021- Xbox Game Studios Games we want to see more of this year.
